ArcelorMittal Building Solution Scandinavia is the branch of the global group ArcelorMittal. Under the Armat™ and ArcelorMittal Projekt brands , we develop, manufacture and market a wide range of construction sheet metal for everything from villas and apartment buildings to extensive structures and projects.

Background
ArcelorMittal Building Solutions is founded on successful family businesses that have been developed, acquired and successively woven together over a thirty-year period.
Production in Karlstad began over 40 years ago under the name Ekonomiplåt . The unit in Sveg was founded 10 years later under the company name Rydab . A third party is Swedish Profile whose production was moved to Karlstad after acquisition in 2009. The company adopted its current name, ArcelorMittal Building Solutions Sverige AB , in 2007 when ArcelorMittal became the owner.
Our facilities
Our facility in Karlstad manufactures, among other things, roofing sheets, wall sheets and beams under the Armat™ brand , as well as customized sheet metal structures for roofs and facades under the ArcelorMittal Projekt brand . Our head office, warehouse and large parts of our customer support are also located here.
Roof and wall sheets are also manufactured in Sveg , as well as a large and well-thought-out program for water drainage . We offer self-produced gutters, downpipes and accessories in complete series for all needs.
Sales and distribution
End customers of Armat™ include sheet metal fabricators, construction companies and private consumers. To ensure service, support and correct product information, the brand is marketed through the construction and sheet metal trade. We have an extensive dealer network with good availability throughout the country.
Special solutions within the framework of Arval are offered to regulatory bodies such as architects, building contractors, designers and major building and civil engineering contractors.
Ownership
ArcelorMittal Building Solutions Scandinavia is a wholly owned subsidiary of ArcelorMittal , the world's largest steel company with mines, steelworks and further processing in over 60 countries. The group offers quality steel for markets such as the automotive, construction and white goods industries, but is also a major player in the construction sector.
With the group behind us, there are unlimited possibilities to develop sustainable, easy-to-handle products in materials adapted to Nordic conditions.
In 2007, ArcelorMittal Building Solutions became a wholly owned subsidiary of the global group ArcelorMittal.

Steel
We are now by far the largest steel producer in the North and South American markets, as well as in Africa. We have strong positions in the CIS region, and a growing presence in Asia, including China and India. We are also the largest steel producer in Europe, with leading positions in France, Germany,
Belgium, Spain, Luxembourg, Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania.
Mines
ArcelorMittal has a global mining portfolio with 14 operating units in Algeria, Brazil, Bosnia, Canada, Kazakhstan, Liberia, Mexico, Ukraine and the United States.
Our mines produced close to 74 million tonnes of iron ore in 2015, which corresponds to approximately 62% of our iron ore needs and makes us one of the largest iron ore producers in the world. In our own mines we also extracted 6.3 million tonnes of coking coal / PCI, which represents approximately 15% of our own consumption.
Research and development
When it comes to research and development, ArcelorMittal is positioned at the forefront of steel producers. We have 12 major research centers around the world, and our R&D spending exceeded $227 million in 2015.
Investing in the future gives us the platform we need for sustainable and commercial success for the company.
Our researchers' expertise is used to develop environmentally friendly products such as Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS) and Ultra-Low CO2 Steelworks (ULCOS). New technology gives us cleaner processes and sustainable production that minimizes the environmental impact of both us and our customers.

Armat™
The Armat™ brand brings together sheet metal products for new construction, renovation and repair of villas, townhouses, farm and agricultural buildings.
Armat™ is offered to the market through several different channels.
Plumbers wholesalers
Plumbing wholesalers with their own distribution network sell from their own warehouses to unique construction projects and plumbers.
Building materials trade
The building materials trade with its own warehouses sells to unique building projects, contractors, carpenters and private customers.
ArcelorMittal Project
With ArcelorMittal Prosjekt, we target architects, contractors, designers, and even larger houses and construction contractors who offer innovative, customized construction solutions in thin sheet metal.
The range includes, for example, roof and wall profiles, sandwich panels, sinus profiles, self-supporting profiles, composite panels and wall cassettes in all conceivable solutions for larger buildings such as halls, shopping malls, public buildings and arenas.

Quality is one of our most important keywords. A well-thought-out policy sets out the guidelines for our work.
We are certified with ISO 9001 and are approved by Inspecta according to EU regulations regarding load-bearing structures of cold-formed, non-welded profiled steel sheets.

Our business is based on finding working methods and routines that minimize our impact on the environment.

We work exclusively with recyclable materials and the steel we use in production comes from steel mills that meet the highest environmental standards.
